Our Favourite Hotel Restaurants in the UK.

Have you ever sat in a soulless hotel dining room with little atmosphere, only to be served mediocre food? We know we certainly have! That doesn't mean all hotel restaurants are the same. We have created a list of our favourite hotel restaurants that really did excite us.

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal:

With stunning hotels all over the world, the Mandarin oriental is known for it's finery. The London hotel is also home to the fifth best restaurant in the world. Since 2011 “Dinner by Heston Blumenthal” has been been serving from the heart of the Hotel. The restaurant quickly gained two michelin stars and has rose up to fifth on the San Pellegrino 50 best restaurants in the world ranking. With a beautiful dining room, unique and world class food and top class service to match “Dinner” is a restaurant we would highly recommend to anyone.

Restaurant Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles:

Gleneagles Hotel

The five star Gleneagles hotel is one of the premier destinations in Scotland, where your every need is met. Not only is it a fantastic hotel, it is also home to Scotland’s only two michelin star restaurant “Restaurant Andrew Fairlie”. Be prepared for not only the finest dining experience in the whole of Scotland, but for us, one of the finest in the whole of the UK. The food and service here are both outstanding, where you will not be let down on any level. For a weekend of pure indulgence, book up at the Gleneagles hotel and the excellent “Restaurant Andrew Fairlie”.

Marcus:

The berkeley

The luxurious Berkeley hotel is one of the most iconic hotels in the whole of London. Situated inside is the restaurant of heavyweight chef Marcus Wareing. Recently revamped, his restaurant “Marcus” is certainly worth a special visit. With two michelin stars, the standard of food is very high. Despite the two stars and being located in a five star hotel “Marcus” is incredibly relaxed, where the staff put you at complete ease throughout your visit. With Marcus Wareing now a judge on celebrity Masterchef “Marcus” is a restaurant that really should not be missed if you are ever visiting London.

Helene Darroze at the Connaught:

The Connaught

Open since 1815, the Connaught hotel is everything a five star hotel should be. With traditional Grandeur with additional modern frills, the Connaught has it all. French chef Helene Darroze took over the reigns at the Connaught in 2008 and hasn’t looked back since. With two michelin stars and a grand dining room that is like no other in London, dining here makes you feel like royalty. Surprisingly the waiting staff are very friendly and this creates an incredibly relaxed dining experience, along with the grand surroundings. Book a table at Helene Darroze and be prepared to slip into a world of sheer luxury.

Galvin Brasserie De luxe:

Situated in the grand Caledonian hotel, Galvin Brasserie De Luxe is an outstanding restaurant but without the huge prices. This was recognised by michelin with the award of the much coveted “Bib Gourmand”. The Brasserie is based on a French Parisian dining room and this creates a relaxed dining room for you to enjoy. With great pre theatre deals and a reasonably priced a la carte menu, Galvin Brasserie De Luxe has to be worth a visit.
